WalshDoc Pediatric Neurodevelopment Questionnaire

The WalshDoc Pediatric Neurodevelopment Questionnaire is designed for parents of children with autism-related symptoms, ADHD, speech delay, developmental delay, regression, sensory issues, sleep problems, gut symptoms, immune/allergy concerns, or behavioral dysregulation.

Unlike the standard biotype questionnaire, this pediatric version does not depend on the child being able to describe long-standing mood or internal symptoms. It focuses on parent-observed patterns that may point toward oxidative stress, copper-zinc imbalance, methylation/folate pathway concerns, mitochondrial vulnerability, gut/immune burden, and related Walsh-style biochemical clues.

Why children need a different questionnaire

The standard Walsh biotype questionnaire works best when a patient can describe mood, anxiety, sleep, motivation, rumination, obsessions, medication response, and long-standing internal symptoms. Toddlers and younger children usually cannot do that. Parents often see the important clues in development, speech, sensory response, sleep, feeding, digestion, immune patterns, behavior, and regression.

The pediatric questionnaire is built around what parents can observe. It organizes developmental, sensory, behavioral, gut, immune, sleep, oxidative stress, mitochondrial, copper-zinc, methylation, folate pathway, and toxic/environmental clues into a more practical pediatric report.

The goal is not to label the child. The goal is to identify which support domains may deserve closer review and which labs may help clarify the pattern.

Who this questionnaire is for

Autism-related concerns

Social communication difficulty, repetitive behaviors, sensory issues, restricted interests, developmental concerns, or regression.

ADHD and behavior patterns

Hyperactivity, impulsivity, emotional meltdowns, irritability, poor frustration tolerance, or difficulty calming after stress.

Speech, sensory, and motor clues

Speech delay, language regression, sound sensitivity, tactile sensitivity, motor coordination issues, or unusual sensory seeking.

Gut, sleep, and immune concerns

Constipation, diarrhea, restricted eating, food reactions, poor sleep, allergies, frequent infections, inflammation, or immune activation.

What the report may evaluate

The pediatric report is organized into support domains rather than one single diagnosis. This helps parents and clinicians see which areas are most supported by the reported pattern.

Neurodevelopment

Development, regression, speech, and behavior

The questionnaire looks for parent-observed clues involving developmental milestones, regression, communication, social engagement, emotional regulation, attention, and behavior.

Sensory and autonomic regulation

Sensory, motor, sleep, and nervous-system patterns

Gut and immune patterns can strongly affect behavior, sleep, sensory tolerance, and development in some children.

  • Restricted diet, picky eating, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, or bloating
  • Allergies, eczema, asthma, frequent infections, or immune activation
  • Food reactions, histamine-type patterns, or inflammatory flares
Biochemical support domains

Oxidative stress, copper-zinc, methylation, and folate pathways

The report may flag clues suggesting oxidative stress, mitochondrial vulnerability, copper-zinc imbalance, pyroluria-style nutrient demand, methylation/folate pathway concerns, or toxic/environmental burden.

Labs that may help clarify the pattern

Questionnaire results can help decide which pediatric labs may be most useful. Not every child needs every test.

  • Serum copper, plasma zinc, and ceruloplasmin
  • Vitamin D, CBC, CMP, and general screening labs
  • Urinary pyrroles / HPL when pyroluria-style clues are present
  • Whole blood histamine or methylation markers when clinically relevant
  • Folate receptor antibody testing when autism-related folate pathway concerns are relevant
  • Gut, immune, oxidative stress, mitochondrial, mold, or toxic burden testing when symptoms suggest overlap

If the patient can describe mood, anxiety, sleep, internal tension, obsessions, perfectionism, supplement reactions, and long-standing symptom patterns, the standard biotype questionnaire may be more appropriate.
