Consultation – 20 Minute Phone Discussion

Select this option if you have previously received a Biotype Report and would like to go over recent labs ordered here or by your primary care physician. This option may also be selected by new or existing patients who would like a 20 minute phone consultation to discuss one or more functional medicine health issues.

The consultation includes a review of lab results and questionnaires from either a new visit or a follow-up visit.  It does not include a Biotype Report.

Any single lab panel or set of single item tests, ordered here, may be discussed by selecting this option. Multiple labs reviewed may require an additional questionnaire and follow up consultation for the doctor to review labs and relevant history.

If you are providing lab results drawn by another physicians office or lab, and you'd like to go over the Walsh Protocol, use the Comprehensive Biotype Panel to get a good idea of what tests and specimen codes are typically used. For the most accurate reporting, histamine test must be from“whole blood” Our preferred lab is Lab Corp.

It is not always possible to go over a broad set of results, history and supplement recommendations. If you select a 20 minute option and we cannot cover all answers, you will be able to apply this consultation cost to a full Biotype Report Consultation. In that case a printed report will be provided, detailing the doctor's assessment and plan.

In all cases, patients will be asked to complete a Telemedicine Consent Form and Questionnaire. Links and further instructions will also be sent by email once this 20 minute phone consultation has been ordered.

Dr. David Epstein, D.O. is a licensed osteopathic physician with a background in functional medicine. He has attended numerous Walsh Institute workshops and studied the Walsh Approach to treating mood and behavior disorders by applying the principles of oxidative stress.

Please note that Second Opinion Physician does not provide diagnosis or codes for insurance billing prior to lab testing. If your primary doctor or insurance company will reimburse the diagnosing doctor or lab directly, this may be the best option.
